Who runs this site

This website, Mikael's Norwegian Lessons, is run by me, Mikael.

I'm an independent teacher, not a company, and this site is something I'm building and maintaining myself.

If you ever have questions about privacy or your data, you can simply email me:

Mikael's Norwegian Lessons

I'm based in Norway, and this site follows EU (GDPR) privacy rules.

What data is collected

I only collect the information that is necessary for the site to work as a learning platform.

This includes:

  • Account information

    • Your Patreon user ID
    • Your display name
    • Your email address (if Patreon shares it)
  • Learning progress

    • Which videos you watch
    • Where you last stopped in a video

This progress data exists for one reason only: so you don't lose your place and can continue learning easily when you come back.

Why this data is collected

Your data is used only to:

  • Let you log in using Patreon
  • Check whether you have an active membership
  • Remember your progress on the site
  • Provide the learning experience

Third-party services

To run the site, I rely on a few external services:

  • Patreon – for login and membership handling
  • Vercel – for hosting the website
  • YouTube – for embedded video playback

These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

How long data is stored

Your account and learning data is stored only while you use the service.

If you stop using the site or want your data removed, you can contact me and I'll take care of it.

Your rights

Under EU (GDPR) rules, you have the right to:

  • See what data I have about you
  • Ask for corrections if something is wrong
  • Request deletion of your data

You don't need a special form — just send me an email.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects privacy, I'll update this page.

Any changes will always be published here.

I want this to be a calm and trustworthy learning space.
If something about privacy feels unclear or uncomfortable, please reach out — I'm always happy to explain.
